Over the past several years Pandora has been focused on growing a local presence in top markets across the country. Currently, Pandora has sales offices in more than 30 markets nationwide, with more coming this year. Having “feet on the street” in each of these cities gives advertisers unprecedented and personalized access to salespeople who can consult with them on how to make Pandora work for their business.

A happy launch in Baltimore

To celebrate our recent launch in Baltimore, Maryland, Pandora hosted a happy hour event at Pazo, an elegant, Tuscan-inspired restaurant in the East Harbor area of downtown Baltimore. Nearly 50 local advertisers, representing top Baltimore ad agencies and businesses, attended to mingle and enjoy a selection of signature Pandora Baltimore cocktails. Local DJ Ryan McFeely spun a personalized playlist and Leon Van Gelder, Director of Local Sales for Pandora, spoke about how Pandora is transforming music in Baltimore and across the country.

“Baltimore is a crucial market for our local presence in the mid-Atlantic region. We were pleased to welcome such a wide variety of advertisers at the happy hour event. With Pandora ranking as the largest radio station in the market for both the 18-49 and 25-54 buying demos, we are in a position to offer advertisers a local solution that is unmatched by other local advertising options,” said Leon Van Gelder.

Committed to the local advertiser

This is exciting because expanding our sales force at the local level means local agencies and businesses of all sizes and budgets can use the Pandora platform to connect with their target audience with minimal waste. Reaching a precise audience on Pandora doesn’t mean sacrificing scale. The size of Pandora in most local markets far exceeds that of the traditional radio stations in the market. According to The Media Audit, Pandora currently ranks as the #1 radio station in major markets like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas and more.

Each time a new local sales office opens, Pandora hosts a special event like the happy hour in Baltimore for the local advertising community. This is a great chance for industry professionals to network, enjoy complimentary refreshments and raise awareness of what Pandora is doing in their market.
