The (Not So Spooky) Truth About Pandora’s Halloween Music Enthusiasts

Eric Suliga, Creative Director

Who doesn’t enjoy a holiday that involves getting dressed up and eating candy? If you’re anything like us, Halloween is not only a good excuse to step outside your normal routine, but also to dust off your favorite horror movie or get your groove on with a little “Monster Mash.”

Either way, the right music is critical for setting the mood, particularly when it comes to creating a spooky ambiance. That’s why, over the years, our Music Curation Team has created a variety of Halloween stations suitable for any costume party, cozying up for season two of “Stranger Things,” or just hanging with the kids while they count their trick-or-treating candy.

Advertisers looking to connect with a Halloween-minded audience can also target these listeners across Pandora’s suite of engagement-based advertising products. “Halloween Music Enthusiasts,” as we call them, include listeners who have added at least one of our Halloween stations to their Pandora account.

To get a better sense of exactly who this audience is, we looked at how they’re listening, where they’re listening, and what we know about their preferences and mindset. Check out the infographic below for more:
