This month, in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we are spotlighting the incredible contributions and work of Latina women to the audio industry.
This edition spotlights Latin Music pioneer and the Vice President Latin Division at independent music publisher Peermuisc, Yvonne Drazan. With over 30 years of experience in the Latin Music industry, Yvonne got her start with the creation of Club Rock En Español in 1989. An A&R veteran prior to joining Peermusic’s team, she handled multiple Latin Grammy Award winners including coordination for Juanes’ album Un Dia Normal and Molotov’s album Dance And Dense Denso. With deep connections to her Mexican heritage, Yvonne says that “as a latina, music is always a part of our daily lives”, emphasizing the “really rich tradition of music in the latin community.”
A colorful and versatile career in the Latin genre has given Yvonne experience as a road manager, publicist, marketing specialist, promotions and merchandising teams, A&R, and much more. At Peermusic her role now focuses on discovering, mentoring, and signing talent, while also overseeing catalog acquisitions, and maintaining a wide-spanning roster of Latin, Pop, and Urban writers for the US Latin market.
